The inauguration meeting of the ''Updating the Sakarya Basin Flood Management Plan” Agreement which was signed on 05.11.2021 was held by participation of Water Management General Manager, Mr. Bilal Dikmen, on 17.11.2021.

Our company's Managing Director Mr. Atilla Özdikmen, our Project Manager İlker Atış and one of our Expert Engineers Kutay Yılmaz attended the inauguration ceremony on behalf of Alter. Referring to the importance of the project, Mr. Atilla Özdikmen made a speech about the foreseen work plans and emphasized the importance of the subject.

With the Flood Management Plan, floods will be handled as a whole on a basin basis, flood risk maps will be prepared, studies such as improvement and intervention will be planned and directed before, during and after floods. According to the EU Flood Directive, Flood Management Plans must be renewed and revised in six-year cycles. “Updating the Sakarya Basin Flood Management Plan” project will be prepared to cover the years 2024-2030, starting from the project completion date.

Within the scope of the "Updating the Sakarya Basin Flood Management Plan" project, in order to reduce and manage the flood risk in our country, in line with the EU Flood Directive; Preliminary assessment of flood risk, creation of flood hazard maps, creation of flood risk maps, determination of measures to be taken before, during and after flood be carried out in terms of risk, and as a result of the data obtained, the Flood Management Plan will be updated and prepared.
