Aksu Lowland 1. Phase 2.Section Main Irrigation Canal Project

Water intake structures built on Aksu River supplies water to main canal that conveys water to Aksu Plain irrigation scheme.

Main canal is situated in a very rough terrain with poor soil conditions.

Alternatives between tunnels for short cuts and open canals with lounge routes were studied.

Economical analysis between open canals and cut and fill type culverts were carried out.

Main Canal : Q=31 m3/s – 21.333 km

Cut and Fill type culvert on main canal (Horseshoe Section D=4,30 m): 3 each
Bridge (DYK type L=11,50 m. E=4 m) : 13 each

Elevated flood pass (L= 11,50 m ): 9 each
Culverts (L=50m – L=30m)
