  • Project Duration : 2020 - 2020

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality has made significant investments in order to meet the transportation demands. In this context, besides HRS, buses, microbuses and minibuses, tram lines have been one of the leading choices in Bursa Metropolitan Municipality transportation planning since 2010. The public transportation system covering the whole city is safer, more comfortable, and the concept of individual vehicle use in short periods and numerically controlled.

One of the aforementioned tram lines is the T2 Tram line with a length of 8,445 km, which connects the City Square-Terminal through the New Yalova road and consists of 11 stations.

The T2 tram line, in which the electromechanical works discussed within the scope of the project will be completed, is planned to start from the city square and reach to Bursa intercity bus terminal, and the production of the parts related to the construction has been completed.

Parts to be completed on T2 Line;

- Traction power transformer energy supply and installation,

- Catenary system manufacturing,

- Signaling and communication works,

- Building escalators and elevators,

- Displacement of Uedaş Lines and lighting works.

Electrical works within the scope of Electro-Mechanical Works; Material supply, installation, testing and commissioning works for Stations, Transformers, Maintenance and Repair Workshop and Administrative (Service) Building, Warehouse Area, Cut-Off Tunnel (line length) LV electrical installations (Lighting, Socket, LV switchgear) and OG Energy (Power) material procurement, installation, testing and commissioning, material supply, assembly, testing and commissioning of the Traction Power System (Traction Power Transformers, Internal Requirement Transformers, MV Switchgear and DC Switchgear Systems, Reactive Power Compensation Systems) procurement operations, material procurement, assembly, testing and commissioning of the Catenary System (750 V DC overhead lines, Stray Current Protection and Corrosion Control, Rail Potential Limiting) are available. Mechanical works include elevators, escalators, workshop auxiliary equipment and systems, ventilation, air conditioning and installation works.

Within the scope of Electronic Works, there are procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of the announcement system, Scada system, radio system, closed circuit television system (CCTV), passenger information system, telephone system, UPS system and signaling system.

It is evaluated that the following benefits will be provided through T2 HRS Line Project of Burulaş:

- HRS line will create a cheap, fast and safe alternative for passengers who have to choose different traffic types along the line;

- Both HRS users and passengers who choose other modes of transport will save significant time due to reduced traffic congestion;

- The operation and maintenance costs of highways will be saved due to the shift of some of the urban trips from the highways to the rail system;

Since some of the passengers who previously travelled by buses, will move to the trams, savings will be obtained from the expenses of BBB arising from bus management.
