Technical Assistance and Consultancy Service for Akçaabat Water and Wastewater Project

Department of EU Investments financed the Project, Technical Assistance and Supervision for Akçaabat Water and Wastewater Project, to improve the Water supply and wastewater system.

The main purposes of this Contract are as follows:

• To provide Technical Assistance to Akçaabat Municipality and the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) through administrative, financial and technical capacity building, and assisting the Municipality in operating an efficient water and wastewater department (Water Utility Department),
• Preparation of design report, drawings and full tender dossier for the wastewater treatment plant and provide assistance during tendering,
• Provision of supervision services for construction of drinking water supply system (Works Contract), construction of first stage of the wastewater treatment plant and rehabilitation of wastewater network system (Works Contract- 2).

WC1 - Construction of drinking water supply system

WC2 - Construction of WWTP and rehabilitation of wastewater network system

In the scope of contract No (WC2), Design of a new WWTP with a capacity of 65.000 p.e. and as for the first phase construction of a WWTP with a capacity for 55.000 p.e, renewal of 5 km sewerage network, renewal of 6 km collector line, rehabilitation of an existing pumping station, design and construction of a new additional pumping station.

Services provided by ALTER;

• Institutional development/strengthening for the Water Utility Department (WUD) of municipality.
• Capacity building to enable the implementation of planned projects.
• Contract management and supervision for construction of drinking water supply components (Works Contract- I) are performed successfully.
• Preparation of design report, drawings and full tender dossier for the implementation of the wastewater treatment plant based on PRAG and FIDIC Contract Conditions
• The supply tender dossier including market survey for the provision of equipment is reviewed and updated and technical assistance is provided in tendering, contracting, successful delivery and use of the equipment.
• Assessment of existing sea outfall and choosing respective design for WWTP to be in line with DSO.
